Back in Eire!

Flew Sunday 13-10. Left Edmonton at 6:15 pm and eventually arrived in Shannon at 4:44 pm local time. Drove straight to Castleisland and went with Jackie `O’Connor and Terrence McQuinn to Flannagan’s in Brosna. “’twas the best night ever in the House” said Jackie. Well one of the top ones. Philip O’Connor (Jackie’s brother) and Mary Fleming danced the broom dance and loads of couple dancing as well.

  1. I decided to take an armchair tour of County Kerry by searching the web for little known facts and history of the area starting with Castleisland and Brosna. How quaint and picturesque these places are and their history is quite fascinating. Castleisland is supposedly renowned for the width of its main street – having taken the virtual drive if the inference is wide i can see why driving in Ireland could be hair raising. Brosna is said to be situated in an area referred to as the bedrock of traditional Irish music, song, dance and poetry (Sliabh Luachra). Now I know what broom dancing is thanks to youtube!
